INAMIN ni Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Frederick Vida na nananatiling mailap para sa maraming Pilipino ang pangarap na Bagong Pilipinas, lalo na kung ang resulta ng matagumpay na prosekusyon ay nauuwi pa rin sa panibagong sigalot sa mga komunidad.
Ito ang naging mensahe ni Vida sa ceremonial signing ng Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) sa pagitan ng Department of Justice at Office of the Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU) nitong Miyerkoles.
“We have a successful prosecution pero at the end it resulted to further conflict. So the search for peace, the search for development, ang pangarap po ng Bagong Pilipinas remains elusive to many of us,” ani Vida.
Binigyang-diin niya na hindi sapat ang dami ng mga kasong naisampa at naiproseso kung hindi naman nakakamit ang tunay na hustisya at pagkakasundo sa mga komunidad.
“Do we achieve the desired outcome? Is there justice? Do we have reconciliation? Is the community at peace?” aniya.
Para kay Vida, ang MOA na lumilikha ng technical working group para sa community-based conflict ay “a step in the right direction” tungo sa pagkamit ng tunay at pangmatagalang kapayapaan.
